How can we help?
[TODO: review copy and the response-time promise]
Getting started
- Open MacScapes and choose a vibe. It becomes your wallpaper on every display straight away.
- MacScapes lives in the menu bar. Click its icon to switch vibes, surprise yourself, arrange widgets, pause, mute, or open the main window.
- From any app: ⌃⌥⌘→ next vibe, ⌃⌥⌘← previous vibe, ⌃⌥⌘R surprise me and ⌃⌥⌘P pause. You can turn these off in Settings.
- To start it with your Mac, turn on Open at login in Settings.
Widgets
Add widgets in the vibe editor, then choose Arrange on Desktop (or Arrange in the menu bar) and drag them where you want them. Right-click a widget to change its size or shape, or to remove it. Widgets can go on any display.
Schedules
In the Schedule pane, turn on Change vibes automatically. Add a rule for a time of day, or for sunrise or sunset with an optional offset, and pick the vibe it should switch to, or start from Day & Night or Work Week. If several rules apply, the most recent one wins. Switching by hand holds until the next scheduled change. The battery saver vibe works with Change vibes automatically on or off.
Folder icons
In the Folder Icons pane, pick a design and choose Apply to Folders…, or drop folders onto the window. Every folder you change is listed there: use Reset to Standard Icon for one folder, or Reset All.
Battery and performance
MacScapes pauses whenever the desktop is hidden. With Save energy on battery on, it drops to 30 fps at half resolution when your Mac is unplugged or in Low Power Mode. If you’d like it lighter still, choose Efficient under Quality in Settings, or set a battery vibe with a calm scene or a Living Still.
Purchases
- Restore Pro on another Mac: choose Restore Purchases in the app’s settings, signed in with the same Apple ID.
- Cancel a subscription: System Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions.
- Refunds: App Store purchases at reportaproblem.apple.com; direct purchases by email.
Uninstalling
If you changed folder icons, reset them in the Folder Icons pane first. To get your old wallpaper back, turn off Match desktop picture and lock screen in Settings. Then quit MacScapes from the menu bar and move it to the Trash.
